It doesn’t happen to me on macOS 10.12.3. Just how long the longer index updates take. So that panel is not necessarily a good indicator for how long indexing takes end-to-end.

The LB default for what’s included in the Documents index is overly inclusive for my needs.īy the way – by watching each index update in the index panel I notice that panel triggered by “Automatically Show and Hide Indexing Progress” only opens when a particular index takes more than some threshold time. I need to break down the Documents index into discrete indices for the folders/file types that I actually need. The updating takes a very long time, building the cache (the step at the end of indexing) also takes a long time, and the index picks up a lot of things that I would never use LB to search for. You’re right – and when I watched each index rule one-by-one, I think I might have found my problem – it’s the indexing for ~/Documents. I doubt many will think it's not worth the $20.LaunchBar’s automated index updating after the first indexing is generally pretty quick. If at first you don't realize all it can do and don't think you will like it give it a little longer and really try it out. This is just the very tip of the iceberg!!! it does sooooooo much! you simply HAVE to try it a few days and it wouldn't hurt to actually read the read me because all it can do is not immediately obvious!

You see this applescript while nice only launches apps. it's simply the easiest way to launch and app, switch to an app, navigate you drives files, launch bookmarks and email addresses just too sweet. I tried launchbar and within 1 day HAD to buy it. there is no comparison of an applescript no matter how complex you could try to make and Launchbar. While I love and use applescript for many tasks.
